In October 2025, Moritz Augenstein won the scratch race at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Santiago de Chile — ten kilometers, forty laps, at his first world championship start. Together with director Dominik Leingartner, we made this film as an homage to track cycling and to its reigning champion.
The lap gave us the structure. The same forms return from shifting angles, so the film circles the sport the way a rider circles the boards, never quite the same way twice. Rotation and vibration carry the pure force and the speed of a discipline that gets decided in the last three out of forty turns.
Shot at the RSG Augsburg velodrome with cinematographer Samuel Emmer, extended with CGI footage.
